SemiDomesticated

We don’t usually write about food here at SemiDomesticated (even though it’s something we talk about often), but every now and again, something comes along that is so good that it prompts us to make an exception. And because this week’s mood is all about food, hosting and merrymaking, this seemed like the perfect opportunity to talk about one of our favorite sources of food inspiration, Green Kitchen Stories.

Through beautiful photographs and personal stories, Swedish/Danish couple, David and Luise, and their daughter Elsa, invite us into their kitchen and share their adventures in healthy, green and vegetarian cooking that boosts of flavor and color! A magazine art director and photographer, David is responsible for their ever gorgeous and mouth watering pictures, while Luise brings bottomless hippie-health-foodie creativity. Together, the power couple is now blogging full time and has published a cookbook (on our Christmas wish list) along with ipad and iphone apps to help inspire a healthier, and tastier lifestyle.

It wasn’t until a couple of months ago when I moved from merely drooling over their pictures to finally recreating one of their recipes in my own kitchen that I also realized how wonderfully simple their recipes are. Everything I’ve attempted, from the Immune Boosting Turmeric Lassie (which I make on a regular basis), to the Paleo Bread, the Holiday stuffed Pumpkin and most recently, their Gingerbread Shake, has turned out perfectly.

We warmly recommend checking out their site and trying some of their recipes for yourself. Enjoy!
